Research & Training

ESR Female

CATs encourages the continued development of all participants throughout this Action.

Short Term Scientific Missions can be undertaken by any researcher, though emphasis is placed on junior researchers or those whose expertise would be of benefit to junior researchers in another country. Funding is available to cover selective costs for planned research visits of between 5 days and 6 months, and which support the objectives of our Collaboration.

Early Stage Researchers (ESRs; those within 8 years since completion of their PhD) are encouraged to gain experience through active participation as a member of the Action or by leading a Working Group.

Training Schools aim to broaden members’ research skills. These programmes are tailored to meet identified research needs and equip participants with the tools to carry out high quality aphasia research.

"My participation in the CAT's training school in May 2014 was a fantastic experience! I had the opportunity to attend very interesting lectures given by scholars who are international experts in their field. I also interacted with both junior and senior colleagues from different backgrounds. No doubt, I greatly benefited from attending this training school, as it allowed me to learn new things and enhance my skill set, including grant writing/extra-mural funding attraction and networking skills, which are really important for early stage researchers!"
