Short Term Scientific Missions (STSMs)

The Collaboration of Aphasia Trialists is pleased to announce continued support for Short Term Scientific Missions. The aim is to support and facilitate networking between international aphasia trialists and researchers. CATs will fund research exchanges between institutions in Participating COST countries, Near Neighbour Countries and approved International Partner Countries (see guidelines for details).

We welcome STSM applications at any time. Funds are awarded three times a year. Please click here for further information.

Reports from our STSMs are available to download here.

Zakarias"The STSM provided a unique opportunity for me to visit the Neurocognition of Language Group in Potsdam, Germany. During my stay, we discussed the most appropriate method of data analyses of a previously conducted case study in Hungary and exchanged ideas about future potential collaborative research. It is easy and smooth to apply for a STSM, with a fast decision procedure, allowing for visiting anybody working on aphasia in one of the participating COST countries. For me, it was a once in a lifetime experience."

Kleanthes Grohmann"This STSM was an extremely fruitful collaboration between the visiting Cyprus Acquisition Team and the hosting THALΕS-APHASIA group. The week-long mission was the perfect tool to set up a comprehensive aphasia assessment battery to be used in Cyprus and Greece alike. We are hopeful to soon be in a position to pilot and then start administering the new tool."
